One in ten charitable Brits take gifts abroad for locals
The British tea bag is the most well-travelled food item ever, according to a survey from The Co-operative Travel, with a third of holidaymakers claiming they can?t be without their favourite, quintessential brew while they are abroad on holiday, while one in ten charitable Brits forgo space for themselves to pack gifts to give to local people overseas.
This winter, once again, the winter vomiting bug - norovirus - has hit the headlines. In 2012 recorded cases hit record levels in the UK.
With many British holidaymakers opting to stay home and participate in this year?s ?golden summer? of events, including the Olympics and the Queen?s Diamond Jubilee, travel companies see 2013 as a great opportunity to tempt Brits to take a break overseas. The challenge though in this competitive market will be to creatively re-engage with customers over the next twelve months in a way that sparks imagination and interest, in good time to get onto the ?holiday shortlist?.
