WTM Virtual: The Israel Ministry of Tourism remains optimistic about 2021

The Israel Ministry of Tourism expressed its optimism about the future of  international tourism in 2021 at the WTM Virtual conference.

Israel is coordinating all its efforts to deal with the challenges that COVID-19 has brought forth. In the past few months, the Israel travel sector has been adjusting its products in line with the new national standard. This includes the purple badge, which is a marker of the highest hygiene and safety standard in Israel?s hospitality industry.

Sharon Bershadsky, director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism in London, added to this sentiment, saying: ?Only when we are confident that we can ensure the safety of our incoming tourists, will we look forward to welcoming everyone back to our country."

Hotels have improved their services to comply with the new health and safety regulations, such as packed breakfast, instead of the normal buffet, and taking people's temperature, among other things. Ben Gurion international airport will also have its own COVID-19 testing laboratory soon.

?At the end of the day, what makes us optimistic for the 2021 season is Israel itself. People are using this time to dream up their big bucket-list trips and we truly believe Israel is this ideal, once-in-a-lifetime destination that people will add to their list; full of unique experiences, history, incredible food, outdoor attractions, and wonderful weather,? Sharon added.

To enable UK travel agents to sell the region better when international travel resumes, the Israel Ministry of Tourism is hosting a range of webinars in the coming few weeks.
