WTM 2021: Miami promotes its great outdoors

At this years WTM, Miami highlighted its MIAMILAND campaign, which aims to position the city as an activity-filled, outdoor haven for adventurous travellers.

Moving beyond theme park offerings, The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) has seen great success with MIAMILAND, a comprehensive marketing campaign that promotes Miami-Dade?s great outdoors.

With a particular focus on parks, beaches and open spaces, the campaign is aimed at encouraging tourists to visit Miami's national parks, county parks, beach parks, and a range of eco-adventures.

MIAMILAND is part of the GMCVB?s larger Miami Shines tourism recovery campaign, an ongoing initiative created in order to aid help Miami?s travel industries.

Further destination news includes the upcoming F1 in May 2022; the Art Basel in December 2021, taking place on Miami Beach; and, the highly-anticipated South Beach Wine & Food Festival in February 2022, which will see food tents set up along the beach front and a host of events. 

Speaking to Travel Bulletin at WTM, Suzie Sponder, senior director of communications for the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, said: "Miami is ready to welcome back tourists again, especially from the UK, which is one of our top five markets. We are an extremely culturally diverse region, and this extends to our tourism offerings. We are a year-round destination for all tourists, our high season is actually in the winter."
