The 368-guest vessel has completed construction, and touched the waters of Louisiana for the first time ahead of its June 2022 debut.
March 7, 2022 marked the first time that Viking's new ship, the 386-guest Viking Mississippi, was 'floated out' onto the waters of Louisiana, marking a milestone in the new ship's construction timeline.
Viking Mississippi is anticipated to sail on the Lower and Upper Mississippi River, between New Orleans and St Paul, from June 2022.
?It is a proud moment that this new ship has met an American waterway for the first time,? said Torstein Hagen, Chairman of Viking.
?Our guests have long wanted to sail the Mississippi River with Viking, and we very much look forward to welcoming them on board this summer. We are grateful to our American partner, Edison Chouest Offshore, who has helped bring to life our vision of exploring the Mississippi in the 'Viking way.'?
193 staterooms aboard the ship can host up to 386 guests, who are invited aboard to explore a host of lounges and bars, a sun terrace, a main restaurant, and a host of other facilities and amenities.
