The platform to pay the €5 day-tripper fee has launched today, encouraging visitors to make their payments before entry.
Not applying to overnight stays, the €5 entry fee hopes to end over-tourism, streamline the entry process and preserve the charm and authenticity the city prides itself on.
The fee applies to select peak periods on certain days between April 25th to May 5th and, on weekends throughout May, June and July, from 8:30am to 4pm.
Paying the fee issues guests a QR code for entry to the city.
