The Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) has launched a tourism and hospitality industry application, titled Opus4business App, to aid the safe reopening of the industry by training business owners about the implementation of health and safety protocols.
South Africa has received the World Travel and Tourism Council?s (WTTC) Global Safety Stamp of Approval, which reassures travellers about the health and hygiene standards at tourist destinations.
The Opus4business app records compliance with the industry protocols, by training tourism industry business owners and staff on the government's Travel Safe - Eat Safe Certification Programme. Visitors to South Africa can download the app to track the safety status of their environment, as the industry is expecting an increase in travel in the coming months.
?The app is another way the industry is demonstrating self-regulation and a readiness to open for domestic and international travel in the country. We are encouraging businesses to download the app and take their teams through the training and keep staff and customers in the sector safe,? says Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa, CEO of TBCSA.
