With restrictions slowly being lifted in the UK and around the world, there are a few national and state parks that are beginning to reopen around the US.
Moraine State Park Butler County - Pittsburgh
Just an hour?s drive from the city of Pittsburgh lies the quaint Butler County that offers visitors a slice of American history, picturesque neighbourhoods and wide-open spaces with an abundance of access to outdoor pursuits. National Parks set to re-open in the coming weeks - Colorado
Officials are looking at a gradual reopening of Rocky Mountain National Park. Although an exact date cannot be determined, it is thought to start a phased reopening in the coming weeks. The park famously spans the Continental Divide and encompasses protected mountains, forests and alpine tundra. Located in Western Colorado, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, surrounds a deep, steep-walled gorge carved through Precambrian rock by the Gunnison Riverhas the park has also said it is building plans to reopen, in a news release it was stated that it is planning a phased reopening within the next two weeks. The National Forest Service is predicting that it will re-open its campgrounds in late-May/early-June. www.colorado.com
Mt. Rainier National Park - Seattle, Washington
Mt. Rainier has some of the hiking trails open on a limited basis with social distancing guidelines in place. It offers some of the best opportunities for adventure, exploration and learning in Seattle.
