Travel Counsellors hopes to boost cruise business with new initiatives

The platform's 'Set Sail' programme is beginning to make waves and Travel Counsellors is now looking to appoint Cruise Ambassadors to support cruise growth.

After a record-breaking year of cruise sales, exceeding £60 million, and 58% of Travel Counsellors making a cruise booking, the new initiatives hope to help seasoned cruise experts and new-to-product agents.

'Set Sail' invites 150 business owners to integrate cruise sales into their businesses. A six-month programme will offer digital, virtual and live sessions with monthly spotlight sessions from key suppliers, support team colleagues and Cruise Ambassadors. Those who complete the programme will be invited to an exclusive three-night sailing aboard NCL Aqua before its maiden voyage next year.

Travel Counsellors is also recruiting Cruise Ambassadors to support their cruise sellers, joining the introduction of Disney Ambassadors and Adventure & Touring Ambassadors more recently.

Janet Whittingham, Travel Counsellors' head of cruise, said, "We are committed to empowering our travel entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge they need to scale their business in a way that suits them.

"The 'Set Sail' programme and the appointment of Cruise Ambassadors are designed to help our community embrace the booming cruise market and record sales that we are seeing. We believe these initiatives will not only deepen their expertise but also provide unique opportunities to experience the latest in cruise offerings and help our customers fall even more in love with exploring the world through cruising."
