Orascom Hotels Management has officially opened its newest hotel, in Egypts Red Sea resort.
After opening bookings in October 2022, five-star The Chedi, El Gouna, Red Sea has opened its doors to 82 rooms and suites, along with three on-site restaurants, pools, a private beach, fitness and activity areas, and a tranquil spa.
Situated on a private cove, the property offers a serene escape at the expansive Red Sea resort, on the doorstep of natural marvels with a choice of on-site facilities to offer guests a unique luxury experience.
Jens Freise, chief commercial officer of Orascom Hotels Management, said: “The Chedi, El Gouna is Orascom Hotels Management’s 18th hotel in El Gouna and caters to our discerning travellers, who are increasingly seeking out luxury experiences on the Red Sea.
"The Chedi brand is a tried and tested success for Orascom Hotels Management, with two existing Chedi hotels in Orascom’s European destinations: Andermatt, Switzerland and Luštica Bay, Montenegro.
"Guests at The Chedi, El Gouna can also access the amenities available in Orascom Development's flagship town, comprising two marinas, two professional golf courses, 10km of beaches, the region's largest cable park, and over 100 restaurants and bars."
Speaking exclusively to Travel Bulletin at YouTravel's roadshow earlier this year, the brand's head of sales for Egypt, Shady Rimon, explained the trade's importance to Orascom's mission: "We're increasing our activites here in the UK, whether with the marketing activities or fam visits. We're increasing our contracts with TUI and easyJet because the UK is one of our priorities to diversify. We see very good potential from the UK.
"Of course, we're running some incentives for the agents, as well as sponsoring events throughout the year to introduce the Chedi El Gouna. We'd like to encourage MICE clients as well, so not only luxury agents but MICE operators, I think there's a big potential there."
Rooms start from £173 per night.
