With all Covid-19 restrictions lifted, the rugged but romantic island of St. Kitts is looking ahead to a year of new discoveries.
The new 'Venture Deeper' campaign from St. Kitts Tourism showcases new luxury resorts, a first-of-its-kind 'Rummelier' programme, and a host of tropical treasures awaiting in 2023.
Sunset Reef St. Kitts, previously an extensive villa, saw a refreshed opening as a boutique hotel in August 2022. Seven suites range in size from one- to four-bedroom, with Peloton bikes, yoga decks, swimming pools and plunge pools adoring each suite. Dining and bar services are available throughout, including an outdoor kitchen. Simply Caribbean offers seven nights in a one-bedroom Standard King Suite, on a bed-and-breakfast basis, from £3,300 for two guests, including return flights with British Airways and transfers.
Another recent addition is Ramada by Wyndham St. Kitts Resort, which opened in October 2022. The resort, with 280 rooms, guarantees personalised experiences alongside a range of amenities, from a pool area to five restaurants and bars, and a Butler Service available for Suite accommodation guests. Prices start from around £94 per night per room.
Soon to join the offering of experiences is the St. Kitts' Rummelier programme, a three-hour experience with two separate classes at Wingfield Estate, and Spice Mill on Cockleshell Bay, where guests will create spiced rum and indulge in cocktail making. Prices start from US$150 per person.
St. Kitts' neighbouring islands of St. Eustatius, St. Maarten, and Saba are easily connected via the Makana Ferry, which joined the slate of affordable ferry destinations in October 2022.
The island is connected twice weekly (Wednesdays and Saturdays) from London Gatwick with British Airways.
