Sarawak Tourism Board takes flight on Malaysia Airlines partnership

Extending the existing collaboration until 2024, Malaysia Airlines and the Sarawak Tourism Board took to WTM 2023 to sign an MoU.

Unlocking one of Asia's hidden gems with bolstered capacity with Malaysia Airlines, the MoU will make it easier than ever for UK guests to experience enchanting Sarawak.

The destination has experienced an over 200% increase in UK visitor arrivals against 2022, with 18,833 Brits heading to the eco charm of Sarawak in the current calendar year.

The tourist board's acting CEO, Yusfida Hj Khalid, welcomed the partnership's extension: "Travellers across the globe today are increasingly inclined towards eco-friendly destinations with sustainability at heart so Sarawak, with its rich biodiversity, unique culture, and commitment to sustainable tourism, perfectly fits the bill.

"STB’s participation in World Travel Market (WTM) London 2023 is one of the keys to further enhance our strategies to reach out to the UK market and we hope this collaboration with MAB will help us achieve our target of more than 30,000 visitor arrivals from the UK in 2024."
