RCL Cruises Ltd is previewing a new technology platform called AirWaves designed to enable agents to book fly/cruise packages with greater ease, flexibility and security.
Marking the largest agent collaboration project conducted by the company in the UK & Ireland ahead of a major launch, the technology will roll out to its next testing phase across a group of 350 agents from August 1.
The platform will bring a fully integrated packaging solution to the industry which removes the need to use multiple systems or processes when booking cruise holidays. It will reduce the amount of time required by travel partners to secure each fly cruise booking as a tailor-made itinerary can be researched, refined and booked in four simple stages.
Travel partners will also benefit from full commission on the cost of the entire cruise holiday including flights, hotels and transfers.
The technology applies across Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises and has been developed by RCL Cruises Ltd to remove the stress associated with booking fly/cruise holidays. The company expects to see an increase in fly/cruise sales once AirWaves is on general release later this year and therefore growth across all three brands.
Other key features of the platform include: access to more than 2,500 hotels near ports to enjoy before or after a cruise; the ability to book hotels and transfers before or after guests? cruise; a choice between shared coach transfers or private cars, minibuses and limousines; providing an indicative ?travel package price? at the start of the booking journey.
