Rosewood Rome to open in 2023

The hotel opening will make this the luxury brands fourth Italian property, and its 11th on the continent.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has been appointed to manage Rosewood Rome, which will open in 2023 in the heart of Italy's capital. Occupying the former headquarters of Italy's Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (BNL) overlooking the Via Veneto, the hotel will offer premier access to many of Rome's attractions and shopping and dining districts.

The property will occupy three historic buildings dating back to the early 20th century, including the reimagined BNL headquarters, initially designed by Marcello Piacentini. It will offer 157 varying accommodations, including 44 suites, three dining outlets including a contemporary Italian bistro, and a rooftop bar with sweeping views across Rome. The rooftop will also host the Rosewood Spa, which will host four treatment rooms and a wellness terrace with a reflecting pool and fitness center. Three meeting rooms and a grand ballroom will also serve as dedicated event spaces.

Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group, explained: "Over the last several years, we have been searching for the right opportunities to evolve our European footprint... we're thrilled to be working on this project that will surely set a new standard for luxury lifestyle experiences in Rome."
