Rocky Mountaineer unveils new brand and extends Red Rocks service

After operating under the Rocky Mountaineer name since 2021, the Rockies to the Red Rocks service will now operate as Canyon Spirit and see a route extension deeper into Utah from 2026

That extension will see the train expand its service to include Salt Lake City, with the extended three-night journey now including overnights in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Moab, Utah—the latter will continue to mark the final stop on shorter, two-day travel options.

Tristan Armstrong, the CEO of Canyon Spirit's parent company, promised that, "Although the name of our train is changing, our world-class service and onboard experience will remain the same.

"We could not be more excited to bring our Canyon Spirit train to Salt Lake City, and to expand our Rockies to the Red Rocks route further into the beautiful state of Utah."

The three-day Red Rocks Extension Journey will operate from April 21st, 2026, with weekly departures from either Denver or Salt Lake City. Prices lead in from £1,680 per person.
