Trends suggest the city will surpass 700,000 visitors this year, with over 55,000 visiting in August alone.
In the last eight months, August's strong performance brings the numbers up to 459,590 – a significant uptick from the 122,499 visitors in the same period in 2022.
Non-resident visitors to the city comprise 94% of Quito Turismo's targets for the entire year. Should the trend continue, the 700,000 benchmark will be surpassed by the end of the year and herald a return to pre-pandemic visitor levels for the Ecuadorian capital.
