Qatar Tourism unveils luxury offerings at ILTM Cannes 2021

The luxury destination has welcomed a host of five-star hotels, event arenas, restaurants and other indulgent offerings.

Qatar has continued to expand its tourist offerings, welcoming a whole host of new luxury experiences in recent months.

As part of the 'Qatar Tourism Strategy 2030', a variety of leisure projects, hotels, theme parks, retail and hospitality experiences, and more have recently opened, or are set to as the destination approaches the winter World Cup 2022.

Over 100 new hotels and serviced apartments are currently under construction, expanding the extensive portfolio of properties welcoming guests. These include the Raffles Hotel and Fairmont Hotel and Resort at Katara Towers, Rosewood Doha and the St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island. These will all contribute to the destination's existing slate of 80 four- and five-star hotels. 

Chief Operating Officer of Qatar Tourism, Berthold Trenkel, said: ?We are continuing to expand our tourism offering and are excited to introduce guests to the best of Qatari hospitality. In 2019, we saw over two million visitors to Qatar and we hope to see similar growth trends now that we are welcoming visitors back to the country again.

Further expansions include major projects like the Place Vendome, a 580-outlet-strong shopping mall, two five-star hotels and entertainment zones, West Bay North Beach with six beaches, restaurants and outdoor activity hubs, and Qetaifan Island North, the first entertainment island in Qatar.
