Scepticism that peaks might not live up to the hype was evidently misplaced: Not Just Travel's 650+ members surpassed £1 million in daily revenue on both January 7th and 8th
Impressive revenue reports this early in the year are largely down to the success of lucrative markets, with long-haul and cruise dominating sales so far.
Four out of the top 10 suppliers are long-haul specialists, with demand surging in the USA (notably in Florida), the UAE, Thailand and the Caribbean. Two of the top suppliers make waves with cruise itineraries in Europe and North America.
Just three of the top 10 suppliers are short-haul package providers, while one is a Lapland specialist.
Steve Witt, co-founder of Not Just Travel, described the "phenomenal" start to the year. "Hitting over £1 million in sales per day is not just a testament to the hard work of our team but also that customers are prioritising experiences and destinations that deliver lifelong memories.
"While others in the industry have yet to announce their January sales figures, our consultants are leading from the front, with performance levels that defy early-year expectations. The surge in long-haul and cruise bookings demonstrates the continued appetite among travellers for bucket-list experiences and premium escapes."
