p>To tie in with 2012 being Olympic year, the Nisbet Plantation Beach Club in Nevis is promoting a wider range of activities for holidaymakers including an Olympic distance triathlon.The property will be one of the hosts for the annual Nevis Triathlon being held in April next year and holidaymakers will have the opportunity to compete over the Olympic distance of 1000m swim, 100km bike ride and a 10km run.
There is also a Try a Tri event incorporating 100m swim, 10km bike ride and 1km run for those who want to join in the fun without having to train too hard.
Other activities offered by the resort including hiking through rainforest to the top of Nevis Peak, mountain biking, guided bike tours with champion triathlon cyclist Reggie Douglas, horse riding on the beach, off-roading, snorkelling and diving.
The resort will also be holding seven-night all-inclusive wellness retreats throughout next year in partnership with health and fitness experts, Purescapes. The retreats are designed to introduce positive life changes for participants and are suited to both beginners and athletes. The programme incorporates exercise, cultural pursuits on island and time for relaxation with a massage or afternoon swim in the pool.
