Newmarket adds new safari tours across Africa

The operator is expanding its range of African safaris with new additions to Tanzania, Botswana and South Africa.

The 12-day ‘Great Safaris of Tanzania & Zanzibar Beach’ provides an unforgettable experience through the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara followed by a beach break on Zanzibar’s east coast. Travellers will visit one of the world’s most renowned prehistoric sites at Olduvai Girge before heading into the Ngorongoro Crater and then embark on a variety of game drives to see the ‘Big Five’. Departures for the itinerary will begin from April 2025. 

The ‘Safari in Botswana ­– Chobe National Park’ is Newmarket’s first dedicated tour in the country and offers 10 days exploring Botswana’s wild wilderness and wildlife. The tour includes a double-decker boat cruise along the Chobe River, an array of activities including guided fishing and a visit to Kazungula Bridge, the only place in the world where the corners of four nations – Zambia, Zimbabwa, Namibia and Botswana – join. Departures will start from November 2024.

Newmarket is offering two brand-new luxury safaris to South Africa from March 2025. The 10-day ‘On Safari in South Africa – Luxury Safari Plains’ adventure is based in the Mabula Game Reserve, home to the Big Five as well as diverse cast of offer animals and wildlife for guests to see. Additional activities include star gazing and a bush walk. The five-star Safari Plains camp also offers a luxury spa and an outdoor pool.

If travellers are looking to extend their holiday, Newmarket is also offering a 15-day version of its South Africa itinerary with an extra seven-night stay at Long Beach resort in Mauritius. The extended package includes return flights and all-inclusive accommodation with departures starting from March 2025.

Richard Forde, head of trade sales and partnerships, highlights the increased popularity of safari tours over the past 12 months, and he hopes the new tours “will prove a big hit with the trade.”
