The 10-aircraft airline, which connects as many as 40 destinations via Keflavik, will "enabl[e Sabre's] agency partners to offer more value and choices to their clients," according to Alessandro Ciancimino, VP of airline distribution at Sabre
Along with recent additions of Toronto and Washington D.C. to the airline's network, and the promise of new flights to Aalborg in June 2025, PLAY CEO Einar Örn Ólafsson noted the Sabre integration as a "significant milestone," suggesting it "will play a crucial role in driving sales and enhancing our visibility to new audiences."
Alessandro added, "This agreement is part of our broader strategy to expand low-cost carrier content in the Sabre travel marketplace in 2024 and beyond, helping agencies seamlessly access the diverse travel options their customers demand."
PLAY's Sabre integration brings even more good news for the airline, which recently reported a record load factor in its five-year history for August 2024.
