MS Hoteles on giving guests a home away from home and the upcoming season

Anabel Acosta, the brand's contracting director, spoke exclusively to Travel Bulletin at YouTravel's 15th anniversary roadshow.

What is MS Hoteles all about?

"We're a family company, with six hotels: five in Málaga and one in Córdoba. We work year-round, closing for just a month in some of the hotels during winter time."

How important is the UK market to your brand?

"We're receiving many visitors from the UK, it's quite an important market for us. YouTravel is one of the biggest tour operators we work with, that's why we've joined them on the road."

What's new at the various hotels across Spain?

"We've done refurbishments in our MS Aguamarina, on El Bajondillo beach. It's a four-star hotel with 130 rooms (all suites), and has all the facilities of a larger resort, but with the familiarity of a family resort: ideal for the British market. On-site, we've got breakfast and half-board options, show cooking, entertainment in the high season, and a gym and spa all included in the price. Along with all that, it's only 150 metres from the beach!"

What booking trends have you noticed over recent months?

"Since Covid-19, people wanted a more secluded experience, and our studios and apartments are in high demand. People always feel safe at all of our hotels and we want to highlight that as it's something every guest wants peace of mind about."

What's your relationship with the UK trade like?

"We're open to all agent markets, and are keen to connect via networking. We offer any kind of breaks, with connections to cities, golf courses, and all the facilities to offer family breaks specifically. We really like working with agents to secure neighbouring rooms for families or groups and ensuring we offer exactly what the client is looking for."
