Manchester Airport celebrates return of flights to the USA

Virgin Atlantic has resumed flights to New York and Orlando for the first time since the pandemic began. 

Services are set to return to Manchester Airport as the USA welcomes leisure travel from the UK for the first time since March 2020.  

The UK's third largest gateway has resumed connections once again, with stateside services to Orlando and New York. Routes to Atlanta and Houston will return over the coming weeks- including the launch of new routes by Aer Lingus. 

Karen Smart, managing director of Manchester Airport, said: ?After almost two years with no flights to the USA, it is great to finally re-connect the region with some of our most popular and important destinations.

?Our US routes are well loved by holidaymakers. I look forward to working closely with our airline partners as more services come back to Manchester, plus I would encourage businesses and other organisations with links to the US to get in touch so we can help them unlock their potential through our international reach.?

Virgin Atlantic's six-weekly service to New York starts from ?532 return, with Aer Lingus offering services from December 1, 2021 from ?179 each way. 

Orlando services include Virgin Atlantic's service, from ?587 return, and Aer Lingus from ?209 each way starting on December 11, 2021. 

Atlanta will welcome a Virgin Atlantic service once again from December 2, 2021, with return fares from ?836.

Singapore Airlines will resume its Houston service on December 1, 2021, with return fares from ?479.
