Lithuania opens the door to UK visitors

Lithuania has lifted travel restrictions for citizens and residents of the United Kingdom, as well as the European Economic Area and Switzerland, on the condition that the country from which people arrive has less than 15 cases per 1,00,000 persons, in the last 14 days. Additionally, the 14-day quarantine regime comes to an end on June 16

For agents selling Lithuania, it is good to know that the country, one of the oldest in Europe, has distinct ethnographic regions of Dz?kija, Highlands (Auk?taitija), Lithuania Minor (Ma?oji Lietuva), Samogitia (?emaitija), Sudovia (Suvalkija), all with their own centuries-old cultures and traditions which are still preserved to this day. There are national parks and water reserves, as well as extensive inter-war architecture. The national parks include Trakai National Park, Kur?i? Nerija National Park, ?emaitija National Park and Dz?kija National Park, and birdwatching is a popular activity. Visitors in autumn and spring can see a wide range of species in the Nemunas Delta region, as well as forests in national parks.

The country is being promoted as a destination for activity and adventure holidays, with various bike routes available. Good roads and scenic views make Lithuania a good choice for a road trip, including opportunities for a glamping vacation.

For spa and wellness tourism, there are mineral water resorts like Druskininkai and Bir?tonas which offer healing treatments and entertainment, alongside visual wonders such as the Hill of Crosses or The Curonian Spit. Medical and wellness tourism in Lithuania combines long-held traditions, natural remedies and new advances. People visit the country for internationally certified LASIK surgery and balneotherapy.
