Journeys by Jet has partnered with air charter specialist Flitestar to launch Cruise Connection, a programme providing a regional private flight service to cruise passengers.
Many cruise passengers, particularly those from the north of the UK, are faced with either a long road journey or inconvenient flight connection times from regional airports.
Utilising a fleet of Learjet 75, Cessna Citation II and Nextant 400XTI private jets, Flitestar Journeys by Jet is offering a pre-priced cruise connection service from Manchester, Leeds-Bradford, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Birmingham to Southampton including transfers to and from the Port of Southampton.
CEO of both companies Neil Baines said: ?After having operated a number of ad-hoc cruise flights, we have decided to formalise the programme and offer cruise passengers and travel agents a great luxury alternative for passengers travelling to and from Southampton.?
Where possible, passengers are taken through private terminals in 15 minutes and onto their jet.
He added: ?Our passengers to-date have been celebrating anniversaries, special birthdays or simply enjoying a spoil and want to get their cruise holiday off to an exciting start.?
A secondary programme has also been developed connecting guests to the Belmond Afloat in France collection of full-crewed barges on the French Canals.
Cruise Connection services are also available from London Biggin Hill and Manchester to Barcelona and Rome (for Civitavecchia) with other regional airports on request.
All Cruise Connection airfares are commissionable to agents at 10%.
