Japan drops Covid-19 testing requirement for vaccinated arrivals

From September 7, 2022, arrivals will no longer require a negative test result prior to entry.

Prime Minister Kishida has confirmed that fully-vaccinated international arrivals will no longer need to provide a negative pre-arrival PCR test result. Fully-vaccinated travellers are those who have completed three doses of the vacicne.

Japan continues to only admit guests on an escorted tour, with the removal of testing a step toward the remaining restrictions loosening.
