A number of hotel openings and dates for the diary are giving guests plenty of reason to pick an Italian escape this summer.
The Italian National Tourist Board has showcased the latest news, openings and dates for the diary in its summer newsletter, showcasing even more reasons for guests to choose Italy for a last-minute summer break.
For the first time, guests can explore the underground tunnels below the Colosseum. Opening on June 26, 2021, the experience is included in 'Full Experience Colosseum' tickets and marks the second phase of an ongoing restoration project, following a total clean-up of the landmark's fa?ade. The final phase will see the restoration of the galleries and a new lighting and visitor centre opening in 2024. Read more here.
A city frozen in time since the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii has welcomed the reopening of The Antiquarian of Pompeii following a total refurbishment. The five-star Grand Palladium Sicilia Resort & Spa and Grand Palladium Garden Beach Resort & Spa, Sicily opened with five restaurants, Zentropia Palladium Spa, club facilities for children and pool, lobby and sports bars.
