The Italian flag carrier is becoming the first airline to operate a Rome service from London City Airport since the pandemic with a twice-daily service taking flight from March 2024.
From Rome-Fiumicino (FCO), guests will be able to connect via ITA Airways' main hub to Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires and more.
London City Airport's aviation director, Anne Doyere, welcomed the announcement of the new service: "We’re delighted to strengthen our partnership with ITA Airways and bring back another key route into our network as we continue to recover and grow.
"Rome will open up a huge range of new travel options for those on connecting flights, so we look forward to welcoming many new passengers to London City."
The service announcement follows hot on the heels of ITA Airways' confirmation of a three-times-daily service to Milan Linate from LCY, with an extra daily service kicking off in January 2024.
