Iceland Travel unveils new solar eclipse packages for 2026

As the countdown to August 2026's solar eclipse ticks on, DMC Iceland Travel has unveiled a range of tours (including escorted and self-drive options) to catch the natural phenomenon in the best light possible

Among the new options is the aptly-titled 'Total Eclipse Experience — Escorted Tour Adventure', currently capped at 30 guests and departing on August 10th, 2026. The six-day, five-night tour will showcase not only the rarely-seen solar eclipse but some of Iceland's finest natural landscapes and phenomena, including the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach and the Golden Circle. The escorted option covers the services of an expert guide, coach travel, accommodation for two nights in the Icelandic capital and three nights in the island's countryside, breakfast, and three two-course dinners.

Those in search of both the solar eclipse and some independence might find the 'Solar Eclipse — Self-Drive Adventure — 2026' a more fitting option. Iceland Travel's curated programme can cater for groups up to nine people. The self-drive option covers pre-booked hotels with breakfast, car hire, and solar eclipse viewing glasses.

Prices are available to registered agents via Iceland Travel's website.

2026's solar eclipse will occur on August 12th, 2026.
