Hyatt to open the first hotel in Cyprus by 2025

Hyatt Hotels Corporation will build its first hotel in Cyprus by 2025.

The 300-room Grand Hyatt Limassol will be situated near the Blue Flag beach, to the east of Limassol and will have a beach club, gardens, event spaces and a premium spa.

Takuya Aoyama, vice president, development for Europe and Africa, Hyatt said, ?Grand Hyatt Limassol represents a crucial part of our growth strategy in Europe, as we continue to seek opportunities to extend our resort footprint in the Mediterranean.?

The announcement of Grand Hyatt Limassol follows a significant expansion of Hyatt?s brand footprint in Europe, over the last 12 months. Nine new hotels, including Great Scotland Yard, Hyatt Centric Dublin, Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere, Hyatt Regency Chantilly and others, opened in the region last year, and four more additions in Barcelona, Manchester and Frankfurt this year. These plans for a hotel in Cyprus represent an important opportunity for Hyatt in Europe, as it builds upon its existing and upcoming portfolio in Malta, Athens Thessaloniki and Izmir. The island has proven to attract travellers from Hyatt?s leading strategic markets in the UK, Russia, Greece, Germany and the Middle East.
