The airline will begin flying its luxurious double-decker A380 aircraft between Abu Dhabi and Singapore from February next year.
Singapore will become the fourth major city to welcome the A380 alongside London, New York City and Paris which will be served from November this year.
Antonoaldo Neves, chief executive officer at Etihad Airways, said he is “thrilled” to welcome the A380 aircraft to Singapore next year as it “highlights Etihad’s dedication to optimising travel to Abu Dhabi and beyond, ensuring more convenience and comfort for our guests.”
The A380 offers a luxurious touch to air travel, featuring 70 private spots in the upper deck Business Studios complemented by The Lobby lounge area. The First Apartment offering promises nine private spaces, each with designer tableware, leather chairs and a large ottoman-bed. The aircraft’s pièce de résistance is The Residence: the world’s only three-room suite in the sky. Accommodating only two guests, The Residence features a private living room, bedroom and en-suite bathroom.
Etihad is also boosting flights to Thailand to 41 per week from October 27th, 2024, flying thrice-daily to Bangkok and 20 times per week to Phuket.
