Desert & Delta Safaris has announced the release of its six-night Community & Conservation package in 2021, offering guests the chance to experience the diversity of a Botswana safari.
The six-night 'Community & Conservation' package allows guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Botswana, experiencing the Okavango Delta and the Chobe River. Due to the arid nature of the landscape, the best time to stay is in July through to August, when the nutrient-rich western grasslands attract an abundant array of wildlife.
The journey begins with a two-night stay at the Leroo La Tau lodge, on the edge of the Boteti River situated on the boundary of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park ? the home of the second-largest zebra migration in the world. Guests will be able to experience these beautiful animals in their natural habitat as they migrate from their grazing grounds inside the park to the banks of the Boteti River valley.
Following two-nights at Leroo La Tau, the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta awaits. With huge herds of buffalo, wildebeest, elephant and zebra flocking to the reserve, while lions, leopards and packs of wild dogs stalk the open grassland and woodland forests. Guests may also catch a glimpse of the rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope that hide among the papyrus banks of the waterways.
The final destination is a two-night stay at the Chobe Savanna Lodge, along the Chobe River and overlooking the game rich floodplains of the Chobe National Park, home to the largest concentration of elephants in the world.
For accommodation, the luxurious Leroo La Tau lodge features 12 en-suite thatched, glass-fronted chalets, situated on individual raised wooden platforms to provide stunning views of the pristine Makgadikgadi Pans National Park and the Boteti River Valley.
Camp Xakanaxa (Moremi Game Reserve) accommodates 24 guests in 11 spacious all-canvas, Meru-style luxury safari tents and one two-bedroom family tent, each with en-suites. Situated on the edge of the lush lagoon, every tent has a private viewing deck where guests can relax on the comfortable sun loungers.
Set in a classic African Savanna environment, the secluded Chobe Savanna Lodge is only accessible by boat and contains 13 exclusive chalets. The lodge overlooks the vast floodplains of the Chobe National Park?s Puku Flats, making for amazing views.
