Dates announced for CLIA Cruise conference 2016

Agents urged to ?Join the Cruise Revolution? for CLIA?s tenth anniversary celebrations.

Royal Caribbean International's latest ship, Harmony of the Seas, will be joined by P&O Cruises? Ventura as CLIA celebrates the tenth anniversary of the largest cruise travel agent event in Europe.

The event will take place on Wednesday 18, Thursday 19 and Friday 20 May in Southampton and is designed for customer facing travel professionals with feature business sessions, an interactive trade fair, networking opportunities and visits to both ships.

Andy Harmer, UK & Ireland director for the cruise association, said: ?The 2016 CLIA Conference will be a celebration of cruise under the theme ?Join the Cruise Revolution?. Our first conference took place in 2007 when our membership totalled 750 agencies and 21 cruise lines ? we now have 3,400 travel agency members and 51 cruise lines. This not only demonstrates the growth of cruise but how it has diversified and is being embraced by a wider cruise community.?

?The Conference will take a look at the past decade showcasing the industry?s expansion and advances and, more importantly, will look ahead to what developments we can expect to see over the next ten years. But what hasn?t changed is that we are a community, working together to get more people to cruise.?

Travel agents also have the opportunity to take part in a special pre-conference Sales & Communications Masterclass taking place on board MSC Splendida on Tuesday 17 May. The visit will also include a tour of the ship and lunch.

Tickets for the conference go on sale on November 5.
