CLIA launches 'Celebration of Cruise Week'

The industry trade bodys campaign marks the return of ocean and river sailings.

To mark the return of ocean and river sailings across the UK, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is hosting a week-long series of events exclusively for agents.

The sessions will aim to commemorate the return of cruising as well as providing the trade with unique training sessions.

'Celebration of Cruise Week' will provide a snapshot of the future cruise sales opportunities and will include dedicated sessions with industry experts. Beginning on May 24, 2021, a variety of CLIA cruise lines and partners will join twice-daily, two-hour long webinars to showcase their respective brands.

With hints, tips, and insider information, agents can choose to join as many sessions as they wish.

On May 24, 2021, Andy Harmer, CLIA managing director, and Tony Roberts, CLIA chair, will introduce the event, followed by presentations from Fred. Olsen, Holland America Line, MSC, Norwegian Cruise Line, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises and Saga.

The following day, on May 25, Jane Archer will host an introduction interview, along with panel guests Aurora Expeditions, Singapore Tourism Board, Oceania, Seabourn, Abercrombie & Kent, Celebrity Cruises, Silversea and Swan Hellenic.

May 26 will host an introduction interview with Sara Macefield with guests including Royal Caribbean International, Cruise Appy, Virgin Voyages, Beds Online, Port of Seattle, Carnival Cruise Line, Greater Miama CVB and Hebridean Island Cruises.

The ultimate session will include an introduction interview with Jeannine Williamson and a panel with Avalon Waterways, CroisiEurope, Scenic and Emerald Cruises, AmaWaterways, APT and Riviera Travel.
