Car hire prices continue to fall in Europe's top destinations

Good signs from TravelSupermarket as car rental rates in August fell by over 12% against July, with top drops pushing 20%.

Overseas car hire continues to grow more affordable as availability rises and prices fall in Europe's top destinations.

Following June's news that top destinations have seen car hire rates fall dramatically since 2022 (with 44.35% reductions in prices across Italy), new data reveals that the trend is continuing.

August 2023 saw car rental prices fall by 25.96% in Greece, 21.96% in Ireland, and 21.41% in Italy.

France showed a 18.91% decrease in car rental rates, with Croatia's less-significant 14.95% reduction still proving a sizeable trend to more affordable rates.

Early September surveys suggest the trend is set to continue.
