Right on cue, the Northern Lights season kicked off right on time at the start of September; Havila Voyages guests caught the often-elusive natural phenomenon this week.
The first 'significant' show of the Northern Lights this year took place in the skies above Northern Norway and up into the Arctic Circle, delighting Havila Voyages' passengers.
Havila is so confident in its ability to navigate the seas away from the light pollution on land to allow guests to catch the Northern Lights that it offers guests a 'Northern Lights Promise' on sailings from October to March. If the phenomenon doesn't appear during guests' 11-night cruise, they are recompensed with a six- or seven-night cruise the following winter.
Cruises on offer this winter include the 'Round Voyage' from Bergen (via Kirkenes), starting from £1,058 per person, with departure dates in October and November this year.
