The Advantage Travel Partnerships chief commercial officer Kelly Cookes confirmed the exclusive partnership, which will help agents guide their customers towards safer travel choices.
"Fantastic, trouble-free holidays" are top of the agenda as The Advantage Travel Partnership confirms an exclusive partnership with the Safer Tourism Foundation.
Established in 2016, ten years after the deaths of two British children from carbon monoxide poisoning while on holiday in Corfu, the Foundation aims to establish a positive legacy of the tragedy, with the children's mother, Sharon Wood, working with the industry directly.
The Safer Tourism Foundation has worked with a number of UK operators, with its newly-announced partnership with The Advantage Travel Partnership marking its first agency collaboration.
Kelly Cookes, Advantage's chief commercial officer, announced the partnership at 2023's Advantage Conference, explaining: "We are delighted to be launching an exclusive partnership with the Safer Tourism Foundation.
"Over the coming weeks we will be communicating with members about how they can get involved with the Foundation, and we will also be developing a pledge that members can sign to showcase the importance they place on guiding customers through every step of their travel experience, building confidence and expertise."
Katherine Atkinson, chief executive of the Safer Tourism Foundation, echoed Kelly's sentiments, elaborating: "Agents play a critical role in helping people make decisions about the holiday that will suit them best, and they are trusted sources of information as people plan for their trip. So, they are also in a brilliant position to weave messages about risk and safety, in a non-threatening and personalised way.
"Advantage is a great partner for Safer Tourism as a charity because of its scale and range of members. Working together, we hope to be able to reach as many customers as possible so that all of them have fantastic, trouble-free holidays."
