Tourism Authority of Thailand and Dubai cafe unite for "pandemic of kindness"

In the UAE, a Dubai cafe has launched a "pandemic of kindness" campaign and the Tourism Authority of Thailand has joined the cafe in a giveaway to promote the Isan region.

Cafe Isan, a popular Thai street food cafe in Dubai, has launched a campaign to encourage people to perform random acts of kindness to help everyone's collective mental health and overcome boredom during the lockdown. Suggestions for the random acts of kindness include sharing jokes with friends and family, calling someone with whom you've lost touch, treating people to good food or even safety essentials such as masks and gloves to protect them and others when they are out and about.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has joined in the cafe's competition where people in Dubai can win a meal at the cafe via a social media campaign on the @halathailand Instagram account and Facebook page, using the #VirtuallyThailand hashtag. The tourism board is keen to raise awareness of the Isan region of Thailand as part of its ongoing campaign to prevent overtourism and promote trips to the lesser-visited parts of Thailand when international travel restrictions are lifted.
