Cruise guru Jane McDonald will be seen sailing along the Douro River on Emerald Waterways? eight-day Secrets of the Douro river cruise one more time, as the double episode of Great River Cruises with Jane McDonald will be aired tomorrow night, July 11 at 7:15pm on Channel 5.
Last month's broadcast of the programme proved very successful for the cruise line, as the next 24 hours saw more than 15,000 visitors on the website, looking up the Douro section and 2,000 brochure requests. Within a day, the Douro region went on to become the line?s number one booked destination for June, with the Rh?ne River, also seen in the programme, coming in second.
David Winterton global brand director of Emerald Waterways says: ?With the episode originally making its debut in April 2019- more than a year ago, we are pleased to discover the continuous interest that the show is creating. We want to thank Jane and Channel 5 for presenting our Star-Ship and Douro itinerary in a fantastic way, which has clearly drawn great attention to Emerald Waterways. We look forward to sharing Jane?s cruise with the nation once again on Saturday and hope it will again spark an interest in river cruising from the viewers.?
Joseph Grimley, director of trade sales in Emerald Waterways says: ?The ongoing airing of the show provides a great opportunity for our travel partners, to watch and learn more about our river cruise along the Douro River. It also provides them with increased river cruise enquiries, through the interest that the show generates.?
Previously, Jane McDonald has sailed along other famous rivers such as the Mekong, the Rhine and the Danube, with Emerald Waterways seeing sharp spikes in web traffic and bookings via travel agents, after the broadcast.
