As We Live & Breathe, an eco-wellness company, is offering a virtual yoga retreat this Friday, called Online Yoga and Eco-Wellness Retreat.
The eight-hour programme intends to bring together activism, community support and nature connection, with deep wellbeing practices.
The Online Yoga and Eco-Wellnes Retreat will see the participants exploring the rituals of the Celtic festival of Beltane, which requires participants to engage in human-nature connection activities, meditation, seasonal cooking lessons, fire ceremonies, and yoga.
?The way we think about wellbeing in our culture keeps us limited to what can be addressed through our ego-centric approaches. Indigenous cultures have always known that this narrow view is very limited, and we will always feel like we are missing out on something. When we embrace eco-centric wellbeing, through our relationship to each other and the natural world, we begin to open up to our full potential. It only happens when we are able cultivate a deep sense of belonging with nature and establish an authentic mutual care and support system,? says Natalie C Morrison, yoga teacher and co-founder of the institute.
?The retreat celebrates the pagan festival and the New Moon; the surging forward of nature, fire, fertility, personal potency and aliveness. Through workshops, talks and time spent in stillness and reflection, we will explore our connection to the land and this most powerful of seasons, and set intentions for the months ahead,? she added.
The programme will be held via Zoom, from 1pm to 9pm, and the tickets will be available on a 'pay-what-you-can' scale of ?30-?50. Interested participants can buy tickets from their website (https://asweliveandbreathe.co/8-may-day-retreat)
While the primary interactive interface of the event will be digital, participants will be encouraged to practice outside if possible to do so safely, preferably in a garden, a local park or woodland.
As We Live & Breathe is inspired by the work of eco-philosopher Joanna Macy, Joanna Macy, Naomi Klein, Bill McKibbin, Charles Eisenstein and many others, from diverse areas, such as economics, politics, psychology, science, and beyond. It is also influenced by ancient spiritual, pagan and indigenous wisdoms, as well as Buddhist practices. Bell Selkie Lovelock, a life coach and Gabriele Luppi, a plant-based nutritional Chef, are the facilitators of the programme. While Bell, a published poet herself, offers nature-based counselling and mentoring, Gabriele focuses on healing through food. Louise Greener is a musician and she is interested in the power of healing through sound.
