New research has found that a third of British holidaymakers (29%) feel guilty about overindulging on food and drink while on holiday, with one in ten (11%) saying they feel guilty upon their return and one in ten (13%) even claiming to feel guilty while they are still away.
The research, conducted by French specialist travel operator Belle France - which specialises in walking and cycling breaks across France ? also reveals that the feeling of guilt could last as long as 16 days after returning home from a holiday, while one in 20 say that the guilt kicks in even before the holiday has begun.
Women were found to be the most concerned about overindulging, with 29% claiming to feel guilty compared to 19% of men.
