United Airlines is the only US airline that offers a non-stop service between Glasgow and the United States
The airline has celebrated its inaugural return flight into Glasgow airport as the only US airline offering a non-stop service from Glasgow to the Newark/New York Hub.
The service returns to Glasgow Airport after seven years, with the new flights being the first since 2019.
The returning service builds on United's already existing services from Scotland, with year-round, non-stop service from Edinburgh to Newark/New York, and daily services between Edinburgh and Washington D.C.
United is the only airline offering daily year-round service between Scotland and the U.S. and offers more seats and flights from Scotland to the U.S. than any other airline, operating up to four nonstop services per day from Scotland to the U.S. for Summer 2026.
Karolien De Hertogh, Director Sales UK and Ireland, United Airlines, commented, "With more seats and flights from Scotland to the United States than any other airline, our customers in Scotland can enjoy even greater travel choice and the possibility to connect seamlessly via our U.S. hubs to over 220 onward destinations across the Americas, whilst travellers from the U.S. can more easily fly to Glasgow and enjoy the city’s world-class museums, iconic architecture, historic pubs, parks and gardens, or travel beyond the city and explore the greater Highlands region."
