TUI River Cruises to debut Douro ship in 2027

The 111-guest TUI Luzia will debut on the Douro in March 2027, with the programme on sale from October 16th, 2025

TUI Luzia, named after the Portuguese word for 'light', has been purpose-built to sail on the Douro, and will do so for the first time on 35 sailings between March and October 2027.

All sailings on Luzia will be Full Board Plus as standard, covering tea, coffee, soft drinks, wine or beer with meals, house wines at lunch and dinner, and regional wines at dinner. Upgrades to all-inclusive will be available.

When the summer 2027 programme goes on sale later this month, it will be the river cruise line's largest-ever summer season, with sailings between three and 15 nights going on sale across the Danube, Douro, Belgian and Dutch waterways, Rhine, and Moselle.

Katy Berzins, TUI River Cruises' head of river cruises, described the magnitude of the season's launch. "This marks a major milestone as we launch our biggest summer programme to date, with more itineraries, more durations, and exciting new ports of call across Europe."

Those new ports of call include Zaandam in the Netherlands, served by TUI Aria on the 'Dutch Delta Discovery', and Aljmas, Croatia, where TUI Maya will call on the 'East Danube Delights' voyage.
