TUI Airways has officially resumed its service from Southampton Airport to Palma de Mallorca, marking a significant return after a 15-year hiatus

The first flight, which departed on, May 27th, was fully booked, reflecting strong demand for travel to the Balearic Islands.

This seasonal route will operate weekly until the end of September, aligning with Marella Cruises’ summer programme and offering passengers convenient access to Mediterranean cruise departures. The reinstated service allows travellers from the Central South region to explore Mallorca’s renowned beaches, cultural landmarks, and warm climate with ease.

The service's return enhances Southampton Airport’s growing portfolio of destinations.

“Our passengers were hugely excited when the return of TUI was first announced last year,” said Gavin Williams, managing director at Southampton Airport. “It’s fantastic to see this service back, creating new opportunities for travel in our region.”

Karen Switzer, director of Flight Capacity Management at TUI UK, added, “We understand how important it is for customers to have flights from their local airport, and we’re pleased to now fly from 24 regional airports across the UK.”

Marella Cruises’ Mediterranean sailings from Palma aboard the Marella Discovery will include ports of call such as Cagliari, Naples, Piombino, Villefranche, and Palamos, rounding off in Palma for a complete island-to-island journey.
