To the bridge and beyond: Holland America reintroduces behind-the-scenes tours

The navigational bridge area of a Holland America Line ship, with crew members undergoing a safety briefing from the Captain.

As the cruise line continues its small screen stardom in Channel 4's 'Supercruising: Life at Sea', Holland America Line has reinstated its behind-the-scenes ship tours, showcasing areas usually closed off to guests

Those areas include the navigational bridge, engine control room, World Stage (on-board entertainment) dressing rooms, among others.

Crew members, including the Captain on select tours, will share unique insight into the areas and escort guests past the 'Crew Members Only' sign for a truly VIP-at-sea experience.

Carole Biencourt, VP of onboard revenue, promises "a rare opportunity to see what makes our operation so unique... a fascinating look at the inner workings of a cruise ship, and guests love meeting the crew members who work behind the scenes to create such a memorable experience."

Tours will be bookable onboard from US$179 per person, and will be rolled out fleetwide by the end of the month.
