A series of new airline routes and network developments are making Hawai‘i more accessible for UK travellers
Alaska Airlines has launched a daily non-stop, year-round service between London Heathrow and Seattle. The new route also opens the door for UK travellers to explore the Pacific Northwest and connect beyond Seattle through Alaska Airlines’ extensive network to all of the Hawaiian Islands.
The connectivity boost is further strengthened by Hawaiian Airlines' integration into the Oneworld Alliance, which provides travellers with enhanced network access, loyalty benefits and smoother onward connections through partner airlines.
Delta Air Lines' new London-Boston service also opens up an attractive stopover option for UK travellers heading to Hawai‘i. Visitors can now combine time in the historic New England city with an idyllic Hawaiian escape, creating a seamless city-to-island itinerary in one trip.
Meanwhile, Southwest Airlines plans to launch a new non-stop, three-day-a-week service between Las Vegas and Hilo on August 6th, 2026, offering a fresh way to experience two very different destinations in one trip.
Sarah Gibbons, Senior Product Manager, USA, Bermuda & Mexico at Lusso, commented, “While stopovers in Los Angeles and San Francisco en-route to Hawai‘i have always been popular and work well, we are noticing a trend in Lusso clients and agents asking for alternative stopover destinations within the USA. The wide range of stopover options offers the chance to discover a new city and experience somewhere totally different to Hawai‘i.”
