The B2B online booking platform has found that new emerging destinations, mid-range accommodation options, and set-jetting are driving the UK's summer travel preferences
The top 10 outbound destinations include the USA, Spain, Italy, Greece, France, the UAE, Turkey, Portugal, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia. The average transaction value for accommodation bookings is £1,107, with an average stay of four nights.
According to RateHawk, some of the fastest-growing holiday destinations for UK travellers include Switzerland (+72% year-on-year) and Canada (+56%). While Montreux and Interlaken in Switzerland are the new summer music festival hubs, Canada's Banff is attracting tourists with its stunning natural beauty.
Japan and Thailand drive UK visitors' favourite Asian destinations this summer. Popular TV shows and films are also drawing UK tourists, with Thailand's Koh Samui island being one such destination that set forth the 'White Lotus effect', based on HBO’s 'The White Lotus'.
