Accor's founding brand has announced an international partnership with the WWF, pledging to champion the protection and restoration of the oceans through various science-based action and conservation initiatives.

The three-year partnership (through 2027) will see Novotel utilise WWF France's technical expertise, applying learnings and action points to its 580-hotel portfolio. In return, Novotel has pledged to sponsor a number of WWF's ocean conservation projects.

Karelle Lamouche, CCO of Accor's premium, midscale & economy division, said the partnership marks "an exciting new chapter" for Novotel, continuing, "Together with our partners, teams and guests, Novotel will lead the charge toward a sustainable future for our oceans, pioneering a new era of environmental stewardship in our hotels and driving industry change."

WWF France's conservation director, Yann Laurans, added, "We are confident our world-renowned technical and scientific expertise will help Novotel drive operational change for the greater good of their business and the ocean."

Novotel's current Positive Impact Plan spans four pillars: reducing plastic, water & carbon footprint impact, encouraging and making sustainable food choices, enhancing education and ocean awareness, and contributing to research & innovation.
