ABTA have announced Montenegro as the host of its 2027 Travel Convention
Set on the shores of the Bay of Kotor, the Convention will take place at the five-star Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay Resort from October 4th to 6th, 2027.
The Convention gives UK travel industry leaders the opportunity to experience one of Europe’s most exciting emerging destinations.
The hotel sits within one of Montenegro’s most striking natural landscapes, the Bay of Kotor, often described as one of the most beautiful bays in Europe. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its dramatic mountain scenery, medieval towns and Adriatic coastline.
Nearby attractions include the walled Old Town of Kotor, the elegant marina of Porto Montenegro, historic waterside settlements, and a wealth of outdoor experiences both on land and at sea.
Mark Tanzer, chief executive of ABTA, said, “We’re excited to be taking ABTA’s Travel Convention in 2027 to Montenegro for the first time. The bay of Kotor is one of Europe’s most striking destinations, combining outstanding natural beauty with fascinating history, culture and hospitality.
“Montenegro is becoming increasingly popular with UK holidaymakers and Kotor Bay will provide a stunning backdrop for our flagship event. We look forward to working closely with our hosts to deliver an exceptional Convention, whilst giving delegates the opportunity to experience first-hand everything this remarkable destination has to offer.”
The announcement was made at the close of ABTA’s 2026 Travel Convention in Funchal, Madeira.
PhD Ana Tripković, director of the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro, said, “We are delighted that Montenegro has been selected to host ABTA’s Travel Convention in 2027. This prestigious event represents a significant opportunity to deepen our cooperation with the British travel industry and further strengthen the ties between our two markets.
“We are confident that hosting the Convention will provide an exceptional platform to showcase the richness and diversity of Montenegro’s tourism offering to leading representatives of the British travel industry, foster new partnerships, and further reinforce Montenegro’s position as an attractive and competitive destination in this important market.”
