Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines buddy up for better fares

The airlines have officially kicked off their strategic joint business partnership, rolling out some fantastic new joint fare products for travellers hopping between the two vibrant capital cities

Formalised back in January 2026 following regulatory approvals, this dynamic aviation duo is building on their already successful codeshare buddy system by giving holidaymakers a wide variety of fare choices across both networks.

The airlines are also sprinkling some extra VIP perks for travellers, including reciprocal lounge access, coordinated flight schedules, and joint corporate travel arrangements.

Bryan Foong, CEO of airline business from Malaysia Aviation Group, shared his excitement about the move, stating, “By introducing joint fare products, we are giving our customers greater choice, improved flexibility, and a more seamless travel experience.”

Lee Lik Hsin, chief commercial officer at Singapore Airlines, noted that as they deepen their collaboration, they will "continue to combine our strengths to enhance both airlines’ offerings and deliver greater value to customers."

Since signing an initial cooperation agreement in 2019, Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines have steadily expanded their teamwork. They currently code-share on flights across Malaysia, Singapore, Europe, and South Africa. Plus, since February 2024, travellers can earn and redeem points across both the Enrich and KrisFlyer frequent flyer programmes.
