Malaysia Airlines and China Southern expand Codeshare Partnership

Malaysia Airlines and China Southern Airlines have announced the expansion of their codeshare partnership to cover five more routes

Taking effect on October 25th, the partnership will cover all Kuala Lumpur-related routes operated by both carriers between Malaysia and China.

The expanded codeshare cooperation will connect the Malaysian capital with a number of China’s key economic, cultural, and commercial centres including Shenzhen, Changsha, Xiamen, Chengdu, and Zhengzhou.

Customers will have more travel options between Malaysia and China as a result of each airline placing their respective flight codes on eligible air services operated by either carrier. This means greater flexibility and smoother connections when travelling across the two airlines’ networks.

This cooperation also creates new opportunities to further deepen the partnership between Malaysia Airlines and China Southern Airlines, delivering greater value to customers.

Captain Nadaruddin A. Bakar, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Malays Aviation Group, said, “China remains a key strategic market for Malaysia Airlines, and our continued expansion in the country reflects the importance we place on strengthening our connections with the region.

“This cooperation complements our network, giving customers greater access to key destinations across China while strengthening the links between our respective networks.”

President of China Southern Air Mr Han Wensheng, said, “We are committed to deepening our partnership to deliver greater value to customers and facilitate closer tourism, trade and economic cooperation between China and Malaysia.”
